Can you remember from your learner days about stopping distances? .... Click here ....  this might be an easy guide to remember

Please note:

Vehicle technology is changing rapidly, and the drills may need  modifying to suit the particular vehicle and for example, some vehicles (e.g. Renault and Citroen) are fitted are now fitted with an electrically powered parking brake in place of a 'pull-up' handbrake. These parking brakes may apply automatically when the engine is switched off and release automatically when the accelerator is depressed to move off.

Similarly, Renault for example has an interlock preventing the engine from starting unless the brake pedal (automatic) or clutch (manual) are depressed.

Automatic gearboxes may now be 'robotised' manual boxes with   a full manual 'flip-lever' alternative to purely automatic operation.

There is one certain requirement; read the handbook.
