Blackpool & Fylde Advanced Motorists Group
As we said in our introduction on the Home page of this site, our region includes the busy resort of Blackpool as well as the farmlands, villages and small townships within the rural Fylde. The M55 motorway crosses the Fylde to Blackpool and so town, country and motorway driving are all on our doorstep.
With you in mind, what we have done here is to give you a typical route that our Observers might take you on so that you can exercise your newly developed skills of Advanced Driving. As most of the work we will be doing together is concentrated upon the rural aspects of the Fylde, you will see this route encompasses all of the characteristics .
In order to be able to see this typical route, first, there is a small programme that you will need to download to your computer from here
Once you have downloaded it, it is a splendid little programme that you can use in conjunction with your Tom Tom and Garmin satellite navigation.
In the top left hand box that says “ITINERARIES”, select GB ~ NW ~ Typical Sunday Run then double click it
Now see the bottom left hand box and press “CALCULATE” and wait a couple of seconds until it loads. Simply press the PLAY graphic
